Overview

The International Conference on Substorms (ICS) is a series of conferences dedicated to auroral and magnetospheric substorms. We are pleased to announce that the 15th ICS conference will be held this year, from October 16-20, in Deqing, China. The conference aims to bring together scientists from the magnetospheric, ionospheric, and planetary communities to review the recent discoveries in light of recent space missions and numerical simulations, and to discuss the current status and future direction of substorm research.

The themes of this conference include the substorm-associated processes in the magnetotail, the magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, roles of waves and instabilities in substorms, the consequence of substorms, storm-substorm relationships, the substorm-like processes in other planetary systems, and any other topics relevant to substorms. We expect ample discussions between scientists/students with different backgrounds to exchange knowledge and ideas.

The conference will be hybrid with online components, but in-person attendance onsite would be encouraged and appreciated.
